ICE WARRIORS™ is an innovative concept developed by celebrity chef and noted television producer Keith Famie, and former professional hockey player and past-president of the Detroit Wings Bill Evo. ICE WARRIORS™ celebrates the achievements, talents and passion of men who make up the Red Wings Alumni Organization and their commitment to the game of hockey and to their communities.
The “Ice Warriors™” of the Red Wings Alumni are defined by the men, all of whom are former professional hockey players who still meet regularly to play the game of hockey, and who share camaraderie and give back to the community through charitable contributions to various not-for-profit organizations that focus on children, literacy, education and families.
Ranging in age from 40 and past 60, these “Ice Warriors™” represent the only group of professional athletes in the United States and perhaps the world that come together as a group, with the mission of playing the game to benefit the lives of others. And, they still got game.
Through their efforts, the “Ice Warriors™” of the Red Wings Alumni have touched the lives of hundreds of thousands through their contributions in their 50-year history. In total, nearly $100,000 is raised and donated back to communities each year as these men skate for a cause. |
